Our Junior young carers or Fidget Digits as they like to be called are a group of young people between the ages of 8 and 13. Coming from South East Northumberland they are part of our unique provision which we have partnered up with key agencies and by gaining crucial support from Trusts. The main aim of this group is to build trust and offer support in a fun, safe and active environment.

We offer opportunities to our young carers to take time away from their caring responsibilities, spend time with other with shared experiences and relieving them from the pressures at home. As a result our week to week programme which is chosen by our young people may include:

  • Imaginary play
  • Group games
  • Music
  • General Sport
  • Arts & Crafts

The group also works towards increasing their confidence and self-esteem as well as their self-belief.  Throughout the year the group also takes part in the Arts Award and John Muir Award and a variety of fun trips both in term time and our holiday schemes. They include:

  • Wet ‘N’ Wild
  • Theme parks
  • Beaches & Country Parks
  • Museums
  • Airbox Bounce
