Arts Award

Here at CVYP we are a registered provider of the Arts Award. The Arts Award like most award schemes has several different levels which allow the young person who is completing the award to be able to be creative while extending their knowledge on what the arts are. Gaining the opportunity to express themselves through various art forms, the young people who take part in the Art Award enjoy forming their own views on the arts and learn what they mean to them. Completed through portfolio work, the award is adaptable so that every young person has a unique Arts Award journey through each level.

The five levels of the arts award are:

  • Discover- For all ages up to 25 to allow young people an introduction to the award and a chance to discover different arts forms and artists.

  • Explore- A level 3 equivalent award for all ages which allows young people a chance to explore various arts forms and organisations. They also get to be creative in making their own piece of art and have the opportunity to share with others.

  • Bronze- Equivalent to a Level 1 on the Regulated Qualifications Framework, Bronze allows for young people aged 11 to 25 to actively participate in the arts, experience the arts as an audience member and to share their own skills with others. Thereby allowing them to have fun experiencing their favourite art forms.

  • Silver- Equivalent to a Level 2 on the Regulated Qualifications Framework also open to 11 to 25 year olds, the Silver Arts Award gives the chance for a young person to look at the arts in depth. Not only experiencing different art forms but to develop leadership skills through running a small project where they gain valuable arts leadership and a chance to work with others to demonstrate their knowledge.

  • Gold- The Gold Arts Award is a Level 3 certification on the Regulated Qualifications framework and equals 16 points on the UCAS tariff. Split into two sections the Gold Arts Award requires you to be able to develop your own personal arts practice as well as complete a project for the Arts Leadership section. Made individual to them the young person will find they get to map their own journey as they build their own arts portfolio.

Those who have completed the Arts Award have found themselves enriched from the fantastic opportunities from the arts award as they begin to learn about a wide range of arts and explore what the creative sector has to offer. Not to mention the fun they will have as they take part in their unique creative journey.
